Perfect 4th Ensemble brings international-standard quartet and orchestral performance to Nigeria's events, festivals and film — fusing classical, contemporary and jazz music with our own indigenous genres.
Bringing the orchestral and quartet tradition performed abroad fully home to Nigerian stages.
Training young Nigerians to become world-class performers — and keeping them purposefully occupied.
Weaving quartet works together with indigenous genres to reach audiences in a language they feel.
Perfect 4th Ensemble is a premier musical group based in Lagos, Nigeria, in existence for over 14 years — performing in concerts and events while projecting the essence of African heritage. Though classically trained, the ensemble has ventured across genres: classical music, scored jazz, Broadway, Afrobeats, contemporary music, folk and indigenous African sound, without letting versatility dilute the quality of the musicianship.
That range came into sharpest focus in December 2025, when Perfect 4th partnered with Dapper Music Entertainment to score, arrange and perform an 85-piece Afrobeats and Fuji orchestra at the Trench Symphony Concert in Lagos — a performance now recognised by Guinness World Records as the Largest Orchestra for an Afrobeats Concert.
“This moment belongs to the musicians. This moment belongs to the culture. And this is only the beginning.” David Etim, Founder & CEO
Perfect 4th is a premier musical ensemble based in Lagos, Nigeria, in existence for over 14 years performing in concerts and events as a group — while projecting the essence of African heritage. Beyond performance, we are deeply involved in teaching and training the fundamentals of western instrumental music.
Our ensemble is made up of highly trained musicians who are experts in theoretical music, live performance, recording and instruction. Every member holds qualified, internationally recognised certificates in music and their instrument of expertise.
Quality is non-negotiable, and experience is a basic prerequisite for joining the group. That standard has shaped a formidable squad of musicians, seasoned both on and off the field, who have performed across a wide range of operas, concerts and festivals at home and abroad.
“Perfect 4th Ensemble has gotten involved with different genres. Though classically inclined, we have ventured into lots of contemporary styles of music — in order to communicate to a wider audience. Despite our versatility, the quality of our delivery has not dwindled.”
Our repertoire spans classical music, scored jazz, Broadway, Afrobeats, contemporary music, folk and indigenous African sound — performed for audiences both nationally and internationally.
Under his visionary stewardship, David Etim has ensured that every partnership with Perfect 4th Ensemble yields culturally historic and commercially unparalleled results — most recently steering the ensemble's 85-piece Afrobeats orchestra to a Guinness World Records title at the Trench Symphony Concert in Lagos.
"We believe this moment is not a peak but a foundation. A step toward a future where African Classical Music expands without erasure."
"We celebrate this milestone as a collective victory for every musician, arranger, and creative mind who contributed to making this historic performance possible. Each member of the orchestra played a role in shaping a sound that pushed the boundaries of what live African music performance can achieve."
"This moment belongs to the musicians. This moment belongs to the culture. And this is only the beginning."
